Emerging Paradigms has been created as a place to bring together a range of research and ideas that fall within the realm of consciousness studies. It is a collection of news, articles, papers, pages, stories and thoughts from around the web, from serious researchers, whether they fall with in what we consider to be orthodox or not. Emerging Paradigms seeks to promote and encourage the serious work being put into researching this fascinating spectrum of study by both scientists and non scientists alike. While the scientific community has much to offer in the methods employed to study the phenomenon of consciousness, we can not deny that understanding consciousness is with in each persons grasp through our own direct experience, and that important experiences and insights can come from any one of us. Truth has a strange way of presenting itself.
Emerging Paradigms is also my own way of delving into this area of research, with the intention of furthering my own understanding of mind and self. My name is Gen and in 1998 I had the first of many out of body and lucid dream experiences, kicking off an intense interest in all those phenomena that lie out on the fringes of our understanding of who and what we really are.
I began making this site in July 2009, and launched it in April 2010. I plan to share some of my own strange experiences through this site as well, in the hope that others, like me, might find them useful in their own journey and research.
Enjoy the journey!
